Individually our own artwork has explored the concept of home, space and place. This has anchored our collaborative research within the theme of sustainable cities and communities. The struggle to find, build and keep a home space is well documented through our state’s history.
Home and space is crucial for our social fabric, giving us shelter, comfort and a sense of place. We have been drawn to themes surrounding the Irish attitude towards ownership, class and the global mythos of romantic Ireland. A postcard is a quintessential expression of a moment in time. We invite the audience to share their stories of living and preserving a home while exploring the policies and historical stumbling blocks that have created the current housing climate.
